Firepit HQ publishes calculators, a library of state fire codes, manufacturer profiles and guides about gas fire features and patio heaters. It is operated by Firepit HQ. The store has not opened, so there is nothing to buy here yet.

Calculator results and code summaries are for planning. They are not engineering, legal or permit advice, and they do not replace your local authority having jurisdiction or a licensed installer. Fire and gas rules are set locally and they change. Confirm with your local authority before you build or buy.

We cite the source and the date we checked it for every code, clearance and standard. The date is when we last read the source. It is not a promise that the source has not changed since. If you find an error, tell us on the contact page.

Manufacturer and product names belong to their owners. Naming a manufacturer does not mean it endorses Firepit HQ or has a relationship with us.

You may use the calculators and read the content for your own planning. Do not scrape the site at a rate that slows it down, try to break into it or use it to send spam. Content on this site belongs to Firepit HQ unless a page says otherwise. Link to us rather than copying pages.

The site is provided as it is. We work to keep the figures right and we date every one, but we cannot promise they are free of errors or that they fit your site. To the extent the law allows, Firepit HQ is not liable for a loss that comes from relying on a calculator result or a code summary instead of confirming with your local authority and a licensed installer.

We link to manufacturers, codes and standards on other sites. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for them.

When these terms change, we change the date at the top of the page.
