What They Make
Firegear Outdoors, of Huntington, Indiana, mostly makes the hardware that goes inside a gas fire pit. Earthcore Industries of Jacksonville, Florida, owns the company, in an acquisition announced on February 6, 2026.
The Pro Series puts brass burners in stainless pans, as round, square, linear H and linear T systems in flat-pan or drop-in form. Pro Spur burners come in 10, 14 and 21 in, rated 80,000, 125,000 and 175,000 BTU on natural gas. The standard line does the same job in stainless steel. Block Burner Systems are built for segmental retaining wall block and paver pits.
Finished pieces are a smaller part of the line. Sanctuary is a GFRC fire table and bowl series, and Abode and Levelle add a GFRC fire and water bowl and a steel fire bowl. Kalea Bay is an outdoor gas fireplace in 36, 48, 60 and 72 in models. The AWS system handles ignition for one or several fire features. The LUME, a stainless insert for wood-burning pits, is the one wood product in the line.

How to Tell Their Pieces Apart
Burner material is the first split: brass in the Pro Series, stainless in the standard line. Both come with three ignition families, named in Firegear's own terms. MT is match throw, with a key valve. AWS is the all-weather electronic system. TPSI is the thermopile system, which Firegear calls High Capacity.
Read the certification statements closely. Firegear's manuals say the AWS valve and control system is certified by Lab Test for the US and Canada to ANSI Z21.97-2014. That statement covers the component and is not a listing for the whole system. The Kalea Bay manual says it was tested and approved to ANSI Z21.97-2017 / CSA 2.41 by the PFS agency under listing #20-024. The match throw and Pro Spur manuals we read state no listing, so ask your inspector which listing they require.
The LUME is built for wood-burning pits. It doesn't make a gas pit smokeless.
Who It Suits, and Who It Doesn't
In our view, Firegear fits a landscaper or do-it-yourself builder putting a gas burner into a paver or block pit, and a buyer who wants brass. Most of the line is burners, pans and kits built into a masonry or block pit, which is why we read it that way.
It's a weaker fit for someone who wants a finished freestanding table, because the GFRC range, Sanctuary, is small.
If you want a smokeless gas fire pit, look elsewhere. The LUME addresses wood fires only.
